2003: and the next 10 years

Three legged stool with D, T, and L on the legs

In 2003, I launched DTL, a San Diego-based web design and hosting agency. Having built CTSnet into a success, I understood the formula that worked—but this time, I wanted something different.

Instead of being at the top of a large company, distanced from the product and customers by layers of management, I chose to run a smaller company where I could stay directly involved in what I love. Fewer stresses, more control, and total capacity to create, and if I can get lucky twice, just as much success. I may have cracked the code.

With history and experience as my guide, it’s time to design a new era. The right mix of vision, planning, talent, and leadership will reward those willing to seize the opportunities left unrealized by a stalled economy.
