Accuracy of Addresses
Despite all of our efforts to make sure that the addresses in this book are as accurate and up to date as possible, a few of them will be bad the day the book hits the shelves. However, this will be a tiny minority of the addresses in the book. Here's why:Early in the process of compiling this book, Morgan (being the programming wizard that he is) wrote a fantastic program that takes every address in our database and automatically checks each one for validity. Among the many tests this program performs, it checks to see if a trailing slash is really necessary at the end of a URL. It also determines the most efficient way to represent an address so that you don't have to type index.html or enter a port number if you don't have to. This tool has proven to be invaluable in helping us produce a book that is both accurate and as up to date as possible.
As we go to press, we can confidently assure you that this is the most current and up to date directory of Internet resources available. Moreover, we will check each and every address in the database before every reprint of the book to continue to provide the freshest addresses possible.
